FRESCO MAKE UP - Fine Venetian plaster
FEATURES AND RANGE OF USE
MAKE UP a fine Venetian plaster suitable for creating the very smooth, translucid finishes known as “calce rasata”. It is based on natural lime, colouring earths, micronized marble, alkali-resistant organic polymers and vegetable additives. MAKE UP presents an excellent adhesion on all fine surfaces, for example cement-lime mortar or equivalent plasters, gypsum plaster for interiors and concrete structures with compact, uniform and flat surfaces, plasterboard panels.
The vapour permeability of MAKE UP makes it suitable for application on all surfaces, provided they are free from rising damp. Thanks to the high degree of alkalinity deriving from the inorganic nature of coating, MAKE UP is particularly resistant to mould and fungi. The particular formulation makes the product both adequately resistant to alkalis and atmospheric agents, and makes it easy-to-apply, very workable, elastic and highly adherent to all surfaces.
RULES FOR USE – PREPARATION OF BASE
New plaster must be left to season for at least 4 to 6 weeks so that the surfaces are neutralized through natural carbonation. Also very new patches of plaster must be left to season.
New wall surfaces: clean thoroughly, removing any trace of dust, dirt or any parts that are loose. Make sure that the wall is perfectly dry and, in the case of very absorbent surfaces, apply a layer of FIXAFOND B 400.
Wall surfaces already painted and partially deteriorated: remove every trace of paint that shows any signs of coming away or flaking, or any efflorescence. Clean away thoroughly any dust or dirt, check that the wall is perfectly dry, and apply a layer of FIXAFOND B 400 to make the surface firm.
APPLICATION
We recommend to apply with any type of surface a priming coat of FIXAFOND B400 to provide a uniform base.
The ready-to-use product is thixotropic: mix it gently until it is workable. Should there be a liquid surface layer present, this does not affect the quality of MAKE UP. In this case set aside a part of the liquid, stir the product and, if necessary, add a part of the liquid until the product is perfectly workable. Spread MAKE UP in two coats with a stainless steel trowel, waiting 24 hours between each coat and applying with circular movements. To obtain a smooth and translucid finish, apply a third coat with overlapping movements. It can be used on all surfaces if not affected by rising damp. Do not apply MAKE UP on surfaces exposed to the sun or with temperatures that can drop below 5°C in the first 24 hours after application. Protect the treated surfaces for at least 48 hours from heavy rain. Clean all tools with water immediately after use.

CONSUMPTION, CONTAINERS AND COLOURS
On average, for a workmanlike job, on fine mortar, consumption is approximately 0.5 kg/m² corresponding to a thickness of 0.3 mm. MAKE UP comes in 20 kg drums in the colours of the colour fan. The product must be kept in its original container within a temperature range between 5°C and 30°C.
WARNINGS
MAKE UP has a markedly basic pH: avoid any contact with the eyes by wearing suitable goggles. In the event of contact with eyes, wash thoroughly for at least 15 minutes with plenty of water. If the irritation persists, consult a doctor.
